The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a national organization dedicated to serving and supporting women in engineering. Through various resources and opportunities, SWE empowers students and professionals to be successful in their field. SWE at UIC is one of the many collegiate sections in the country and they also strive to provide many opportunities to students to enhance their academic careers as they prepare for their professional one.
SWE UIC coordinates many events throughout the academic year that range from elementary school outreach, general body meetings, and national or regional conferences. Their focus is on academic and professional development so that their fellow members feel prepared for graduate school and/or the workforce. Currently, their membership consists of +100 paid members which includes students of all engineering majors, both male and female. We encourage you to visit their website to learn more about how to become an official member! You can also follow them on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date with their events and activities.
