Women in Computer Science (WiCS)

The UIC Women in Computer Science (WiCS) is a student organization that empowers and supports women in computing. WiCS offers monthly general body meetings to encourage the professional development and academic success of their members. With the support of the UIC Computer Science Department, WiCS provides students the opportunity to attend the Grace Hopper Conference which is the largest gathering of women in technology. Students and professionals from all across the country attend this prestigious event and UIC is always well represented.cropped-wics_logo-300x300

All UIC women pursuing a computer science degree can become members of WiCS. Active members must attend at least two meetings per semester. All meetings are held in the WiCS Lounge which is the ideal space for students to gather and study. The WiCS Lounge is located in the Science Engineering Labs East Building and is always accessible to students.
