Meet our team!
Elsa M. Soto joined the UIC College of Engineering in 2006 as an undergraduate academic advisor. As a UIC alumnus and staff advisor to the Society of Women Engineers, she assists the College with the recruitment and retention efforts of female engineering students. She is committed to helping UIC bridge the gender gap in engineering and is confident that through Women in Engineering Programs, big strides will be made. Elsa has a Masters Degree in Urban Planning and Policy from UIC; she is a Professional Member of the Society of Women Engineers; and the recipient of the 2016 UIC Award of Merit. In 2017, she was selected by La Raza Newspaper as a Mujer Destacada for her work in the field of Education. Mujeres Destacadas is a month-long editorial series and awards ceremony in which six Latina women are recognized and honored for their outstanding contributions in the fields of Community Leadership, Education, Health, Arts & Culture, and Business.
Megan Dague is an undergraduate student majoring in Electrical Engineering. She decided to pursue a degree at UIC because of its high caliber programs and faculty. In addition, she wants to take advantage of the many internships and research opportunities available through the Engineering Career Center and major departments. Megan encourages all those who are interested in engineering to study hard and get involved in STEM related activities, especially those that are specific for women. Megan is an active member of SWE and during her spare time, she likes to read, explore the city, and study with friends.
